Summer Camp at Camp AREV is fun filled, spiritually driven week long camp that helps campers get out of their daily routine and experience the amazing creation while helping them worship their amazing Creator. Our aim is to make sure campers have the BEST WEEK OF THEIR LIVES, walk closely with Jesus Christ and create amazing and long lasting memories.

Basic Information about Junior High Camp:

  • 6th-8th Grade campers
  • July 16-22
  • July 20: Castaic Lake Trip
  • July 22: Family Kebab Picnic (Parents plan to pick up campers at picnic)

During Junior High Summer Camp we love interacting with our campers through bible lessons, singing, various seminars with topics appropriate to their age and Armenian Christian Heritage. We also play and have FUN together. Fun time includes organized team games (afternoon and night,) individual free time activities, and "Camp Chaos" are all part of what makes camp so unique and memorable.

About Our Speaker:  George Hagopian

I was born in Hollywood in '83. My parents saw me and were like, "he's perfect! we don't need another one." So I'm an only child. I wasn't always the greatest kid, but by God's grace, I ended up at Camp AREV when I was in 7th grade and from that day God began the process of creating a new me. I accepted Jesus at Camp AREV the summer going into by senior year. I also ended up meeting the girl I would eventually get married to at Camp AREV. In fact, we got engaged at Camp AREV. Weird, right?

I've been serving at churches for a long time now. Most recently, I've been serving as the youth leader and the worship leader at Holy Trinity Armenian Church in North Hollywood. I have one wife, 3 crazy kids, and one dog named Franz. I love to play the ukulele, I'm a SCUBA certified, and most importantly, I'm a proud Evertonian.

I hope that this week up at Camp AREV is the beginning (or continuation) of God's process of making you ALIVE.
